**Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the BISFF will be held as an online event this year, unless restrictions are eased by mid-March.**

Become a part of Bristol's most exciting new short film festival!

Why BISFF?

As the newest and most innovative film festival in Bristol this is your opportunity to be part of something special- a festival showcasing the most original and exciting works that the international community has to offer.

We aim to bring the international short film festival together right here in Bristol to allow networking opportunities and create an international community.

We have a broad range of awards which will come with winners packs and the ability to showcase your work to the international community of short film makers.

Our favourite projects will have prime position on our social media channels and be used to promote the following year of the festival.

Bristol was recently recognised as a “city of film” by UNESCO alongside the likes of Rome and Sydney. This makes the city the perfect place to showcase the talent the short film world has to offer.

What is our judging process?

Submissions will be shortlisted for the judging panel made up of renowned members of the film industry.

The panel will rate every film against the category it has been submitted under and the winners along with the top 3 runners up will be shown at the festival.

The winner of each category will receive a  prestigious “Winner” laurel and a hardcopy certificate to be presented at the festival screening or posted should they not be able to attend or is COVID-19 places restrictions on the festival. All films selected for the festival will also receive "Official Selection" laurels for their films.

Covid permitting, all winners and runner ups will be invited to an exclusive screening in Bristol during the festival.

In order to be considered before the panel you must comply with the rules of the festival:

  • To submit a film you must be the creator and owner of the project or have permission from the owner to submit the content to us.

  • Any films not in the english language must have subtitles.

  • Student filmmakers are entitled to a discounted fee but must supply a valid Student ID in order to benefit.

  • You must select the category you would like to be considered for upon submission. Extra categories selected will incur extra fees.

  • All fees are non-refundable.
